Cortney Bishop continues striking us with creative, eclectic, edgy style. This beach cottage is another stunner, it’s decorated in modern beach style without too much fuss, with subtle seaside touches that make it unobtrusive but very stylish.
Bright white walls and ceiling to create a simple, bright backdrop to funky furnishings and graphic patterned curtains and pillows. The art in the living room could not be more perfect in this setting. I love touches of natural wood here: doors, a coffee table, a vintage patina chest and a worn wooden cabinet in the corner – all of them create a cool beachside look, and the sisal rope rug is another marine touch.
The breakfast nook in the kitchen is decorated in dark colors, which is non-typical for a beach retreat but looks very interesting. A worn wooden beam above it echoes with dark chairs and a rustic vintage dining table. The upholstery, mirror frame and lamp frame are also dark to complete look.
Another eating space is decorated with a crazy chandelier made of wood and rope and bulbs that are attached using rope. This is a sea-inspired piece that makes a statement in this eating area, and if you like it, it’s easy to DIY.
The master bedroom is decorated in muted colors like green and beige, and the seaside touch is shutters. The guest bedroom boasts of a colorful bed and various patterned textiles and upholstery. I like the idea of accetuating this room with sunny yellow touches, they look bold and cool.
There’s a small modern terrace clad in white and there’s just a couple of wooden chairs, and the plunge pool looks very inviting.
