This modern beach home is decorated in white and framed with black details for a cool look
Once an outdated house in Montauk is now a beautiful modern retreat that was designed by Décor Aid on a minimal budget. The homeowner couple wanted the beach home to feel serene, but with playful elements and moments of glam. Since the couple were expecting their first child during the renovation, they wanted the new design to be simple and fairly easy to take care of.
Crisp white walls are paired with grey floors and black details keeping the interior cohesive and contemporary. The Décor Aid master interior designer found the geometric Miles Redd fabric used to reupholster the vintage sofa via 1st Dibs from a store in Texas. The fun print pops in the clean space. The quirky bird on the wall adds a modern spin on taxidermy.
The kitchen is modern and chic: white cabinets with black countertops look awesome with copper pendant lamps. Printed rugs echo with cute white chairs by the kitchen island. Everything here is functional and easy to maintain, which is important when expecting a baby.
While the living room is kept fairly simple, they brought in elements of gold to elevate the space. I love a built-in fireplace with brick inside and a firewood display, it doesn’t work but adds a cozy touch to the space. A bold geometric sofa refreshes the space.
The small bedroom features just a big bed, a couple of nightstands and some personal pictures on the wall, which give the space a beach feel. Various prints are used throughout the space: polka dots, chevron, geo and others, and they add a whimsy touch.
