This 150 m2 home that was uninhabited for quite some time in Barcelona but then it was renovated and fully transformed by Bárbara Aurell, interior architect and designer of Espacio en blanco. The home got personality and much light, it became vivacious and catchy.
The apartment was done in white, which makes any space feel airier and larger but this isn’t boring white, it’s varied with patterns and interesting furnishings, mostly shabby chic and vintage ones. The living room with a home office nook is done in white and much natural light. There’s eclectic furniture, with colorful touches and there are bookshelves on the whole length of the wall. Some vintage and shabby chic items make the space more eye-catchy and bold, they bring in some life in.
The kitchen also features lots of white and there’s mosaic black and white tiled floor plus white subway tiles throughout the space, it’s very trendy now. A kitchen island is represented with a bar counter with a wooden countertop, there are pendant lamps and colorful kettles. Large bookshelves take almost two walls, they are used for storing everything from dinnerware to plants in pots. A small dining space is half opened to the kitchen and features a round table, mismatched chairs and a vintage mirror in a frame.
The master bedroom shows off a large bed with lots of lace pillows and is enlivened with vintage nightstands and a peculiar artwork over the bed. The bathroom is clad with various types of black and white tiles and accented with brass touches for an elegant feel.
