This unique Wave House by architect Mario Romano in inspired by the ocean waves and looks fantastic
This house in Los Angeles by architect Mario Romano reminds me of the works of Antonio Gaudi, famous Spanish architect who created architectural masterpieces seeing houses as works of art.
The Wave House was inspired by the sea and with an affinity for natural landscapes, Romano designed this coastal abode in Venice, California to resemble a majestic ocean swell. The two-story property is wrapped in white aluminum skin and stained cedar. The structure instills a harmonic ambience with its 40-foot undulating lines on its exterior grabbing your attention instantaneously.
The house is comprised of free-flowing spaces, tall windows and meticulously sculpted surfaces that pay homage to the region’s natural surroundings. One of the most notable features is a large front door built from skateboard decks that looks like no other.
A cozy family room with a vista of the lot’s immense lawn, a swimming pool as well as an outdoor theatre that spans 11,000-square-feet. There are several unique artworks and wall coverings that reflect the unique outer structure of the house.
The master bedroom is minimalist yet bold: plain grey walls and white floor and ceilings are a great backdrop for a modern white bed with an upholstered headboard. To add color to the room, the designer used a hot red leather chair and blue pillows.
The kid’s room is decorated in Scandinavian style with a black and white combo. The furniture is simple yet creative, the bed can be transformed into a tent if needed. Get more pics of this unique home below!
