Nixon Tulloch Fortey Architecture decided to create an extension for this historic house in Melbourne, and that’s why the house is full of contrasts. The exterior remained old-fashioned and historic while the interior is colorful and modern. Concrete and wood, black and white with splashes of color, open plan creates a strong contrast with the traditional brick clad outside. Glass wall in the kitchen brings much light in, and open space together with living room creates a fantastic feeling of space and light. Such a mix of traditional and modern and bright would be to anybody’s tasting – here you’ll find features of both styles which are in harmony while being on contrast.
