This unique home is made of two old barns transported to the property
This home was made of two barns that were dismantled, moved, and reassembled to create one big house in Roxbury, Connecticut.
The property was created by Ed Cady Sr and Jr of East Coast Barn Builders for Cady Jr. The home has exposed beams, plaster walls, and antique cypress flooring. Upon entering, you’ll feel like in a vintage rustic home, there’s much natural stone and wood used in decor throughout the barn home. The furniture is rustic and vintage, carved and beautifully customized for the home, so you’ll get an impression of getting in the 19th century or even earlier.
The living room features vintage furniture reupholstered with brown leather and a major fireplace clad with stone, and it’s working, of course! There’s a dining table, some raw wooden furniture and vintage lanterns – this home saves the spirit of old times in a very cool way.
The master bedroom features cool wooden beams, a vintage carved wardrobe and ottoman. There’s much natural wood that makes the space more welcoming. The master bathroom is clad with wood – the bathtub, the vanity and the floor are all wooden ones.
The kitchen and dining zone are united into one space, and it looks rather refined. A wooden floor and ceiling with beams make up a cozy backdrop for the whole space; there’s a large kitchen island and customized wooden cabinets but in my opinion the carved sideboard with glass cabinets is the show-stopper here.
